Rare Disease Day 2023

Today is Rare Disease Day, a hugely important day. 1 in 17 of the world’s population will be affected by a rare disease at some point in our lives, that’s 350 million people across the world, mostly affecting children.
So together rare diseases are quite common, yet they are often poorly understood or even dismissed by health care professionals and the wider public, with industry funding for research into treatment and cures for rare disease largely ignored or lacking.
Since 2010, Inspired have worked with countless patients, advocacy groups, HCPs, pharma companies, medical charities, healthcare agencies and other organisations in the sector to try to change the perception of rare disease.
Over the past few months, we’ve been working alongside our friends at Radius Health Creative and EgetisTherapeutics to create a series of films for their new campaign, helping raise the profile of the rare disease MCT8, which currently has no treatment or cure.

Rare diseases need our attention. Because rare diseases are not rare at all.
